Using this website

This website is run by Norwich University of the Arts. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website and are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • Zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • ‘Skip to content’ using tab on your keyboard
  • Listen to most of the website using a screen reader
  • Navigate our online forms using just a keyboard

We have also made the website text easy to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible is our website?

We know some parts of this website aren’t fully accessible:

  • You cannot modify the line height or spacing of text
  • Most older PDF documents aren’t fully accessible to screen reader software

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

Norwich University of the Arts is committed to making its websites accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-accessible content

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

While text can be zoomed, it is currently not possible for users to modify the text spacing or line height. This doesn’t meet WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.12 (Text Spacing). We are looking at a way we can implement this in the future.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

PDFs and other documents

Our older PDF’s and other downloadable documents don’t meet accessibility standards. For example, they may not be marked up so they are accessible to a screen reader. This means they don’t meet the WCAG 2.1 success criterion 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value). PDF’s and other documents published after 23rd September 2018 and any new PDF’s that have been created have been made accessible in line with the accessibility standards.

This website was last tested on 17th November 2023. The test was carried out on all pages by the Silktide testing platform, which checks our content against the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) WCAG 2.1 success criterion.

At time of testing, no priority issues were flagged up and the pages were found to be 100% compliant on level A, 100% compliant on level AA and 99.4% compliant on level AAA using automated testing techniques.
